1. De Minimis
Shipments to the United States benefit from the $800 de Minimis exemption through August 28, 2025 (inclusive): no duties/taxes if the declared value is ≤ $800; above that amount, only the excess may be subject to duties.

2. DHL / FedEx
Until further notice, our U.S.-bound shipments are handled DAP (duties/taxes not collected at checkout). The recipient pays import charges on delivery.
Potential charges may include:

• HTSUS customs duties (based on the fabric’s tariff code),
• Reciprocal country-of-origin duty (Japan: 15%),
• CBP fees (e.g., MPF/HMF depending on mode),
• Carrier disbursement/brokerage fees.

We are working closely with our carriers to offer all-inclusive options as soon as possible and minimize the impact for you.

3. Japan Post
Shipments via Japan Post to the United States are temporarily suspended.

We have integrated the IOSS system (Import One-Stop Shop) to simplify your European orders:

Orders ≤ 150€ (excluding shipping): VAT is collected directly during your order. No customs duty, no carrier handling fees, no surprises at delivery.

Orders > 150€: Thanks to the EU–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement, our products made in Japan benefit from total exemption from customs duties. Only VAT and carrier handling fees apply at delivery.

For Canada, the customs exemption threshold is set at 20 CAD. Thanks to the free trade agreement between Canada and Japan, our Japanese products are generally exempt from customs duties even if the value exceeds this threshold. However, once the order exceeds 20 CAD, GST/HST is applied to the entire declared value, even though customs duties often remain nil for these products.

Although the exemption threshold is 1,000 AUD, it is important to note that GST (Goods and Services Tax, equivalent to 10%) applies to all imports from Japan, regardless of the declared value.

For orders exceeding 1,000 AUD, in addition to GST, customs duties (generally around 5% depending on the type of product) may be applied during clearance.

In the United Kingdom, the customs exemption threshold is set at 135 GBP. However, thanks to the UK‑Japan CEPA, most customs duties on our products made in Japan are waived.

Thus, even for orders exceeding 135 GBP, our Japanese products are not subject to customs duties. However, VAT (generally 20%) and carrier fees are still applicable upon importation.
