Yamato Kimono black color with crane and Tanabe Noshi patterns. This is a magnificent Kuro Tomesode kimono in black, adorned with stunning flying crane motifs, complemented by touches of golden embroidery and golden Tanabe Noshi stripes with pearlescent effects. this kimono is in good condition and is crafted from a beautiful quality crepe fabric by the Yamato brand, a kimono boutique founded in Tokyo in 1917. Yamato is renowned for its long-standing tradition of quality and craftsmanship in kimono-making. the Tanabe Noshi pattern is an elegant variation of the Noshi, a traditional Japanese ornament symbolizing longevity and prosperity. The kimono has a slightly noticeable color loss in the upper left corner (which can be retouched by a professional) and a barely visible wear mark on the collar due to use. however, the exterior and patterns remain in very good condition. Being a vintage/used piece, it may show some stains or defects.

The Kuro Tomesode is a specific type of Japanese kimono. “Kuro” means “black” in Japanese, and “Tomesode” refers to a formal kimono primarily worn by married women on special occasions.

The Kuro Tomesode stands out with its predominantly black color and elegant design. It is often adorned with intricate patterns and delicate embroideries, typically located at the bottom of the kimono. The motifs used on the Kuro Tomesode can vary, but they are often symbolic and carry deep meaning. For example, floral, bird, or landscape motifs may represent wishes for happiness, prosperity, or conjugal love.

Tomesode is a type of Japanese traditional clothing and is the highest-ranked formal dress worn by married women. Within the hierarchy of kimonos, the tomesode is the most formal and equivalent to Western evening wear.

Europe (European Union)

We have integrated the IOSS system (Import One-Stop Shop) to simplify your European orders:

Orders ≤ 150€ (excluding shipping): VAT is collected directly during your order. No customs duty, no carrier handling fees, no surprises at delivery.

Orders > 150€: Thanks to the EU–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement, our products made in Japan benefit from total exemption from customs duties. Only VAT and carrier handling fees apply at delivery.

Canada

For Canada, the customs exemption threshold is set at 20 CAD. Thanks to the free trade agreement between Canada and Japan, our Japanese products are generally exempt from customs duties even if the value exceeds this threshold. However, once the order exceeds 20 CAD, GST/HST is applied to the entire declared value, even though customs duties often remain nil for these products.

Australia

Although the exemption threshold is 1,000 AUD, it is important to note that GST (Goods and Services Tax, equivalent to 10%) applies to all imports from Japan, regardless of the declared value.

For orders exceeding 1,000 AUD, in addition to GST, customs duties (generally around 5% depending on the type of product) may be applied during clearance.

United Kingdom (UK)

In the United Kingdom, the customs exemption threshold is set at 135 GBP. However, thanks to the UK‑Japan CEPA, most customs duties on our products made in Japan are waived.

Thus, even for orders exceeding 135 GBP, our Japanese products are not subject to customs duties. However, VAT (generally 20%) and carrier fees are still applicable upon importation.

Preparation time

We ship your parcels worldwide from Japan. If you do not see your country listed when entering your delivery address, please feel free to contact us so we can work together to find the best option.

Your order is prepared within 2 business days following the receipt of your payment and handed over to the carrier you selected at the time of purchase. You will receive a shipping confirmation email to track your parcel. We offer several delivery options to meet your needs.

Return Policy

If your order has not yet been shipped, we can cancel it and provide a full refund.

If it is in transit or has been delivered, please return it within 7 calendar days of receipt (return shipping costs are your responsibility). After inspection (ensuring the product is new and in its original packaging), we will refund the amount of your order, excluding the initial shipping fees. No refund will be issued for damaged products.

In the event of an error on our part, please contact us within 72 hours with photos or video, so that we can quickly and appropriately resolve the issue.
